Smoke Deter – Here’s A Quick Way To Quit Smoking Forever
What works for that brother may not work for you, but it is no reason not to try. The worst that could happen is that it fails to make you stop smoking, and then you can go on to another technique. Whatever it takes, give it until you finally find that you are no longer smoking.

A friend of mine stopped smoking by getting another friend to knock him on the head every time he picked up a cigarette. Guess what, they had quite a few fights too, but eventually my friend stopped smoking. I tried but it didn’t work. Now I’m seeing a shrink.
My dad died of lung cancer. I didn’t need a coroner to tell me that he had smoked himself into that condition in the first place. My friends don’t understand how this works for me, but every time I feel like smoking these days, I just remember what the darned thing did to my dad, I see his dying face wreaked with pain… it takes two seconds flat and the urge of smoking disappears.

If you are a sports person, you can think of smoking as an opponent that you have to best in competition. If you see yourself winning, much the same way as you would see yourself winning in a race or some other athletic event, you can also win over the brown studded stick. But you’ve really got to believe in yourself.
Hey, there are as many ways to stop smoking as your imagination can conjure up. Even if you have no outside help, you could keep thinking and trying technique after technique. Even if they would not work for others, they might work for you; otherwise, the mere desire to quit could do the magic.
You know, you could go for a walk or ride a bike around the block when you find that you feel like smoking. Just do something to keep you busy and your mind engaged. Sooner than you know it, the urges will get fewer and further apart. You don’t have a bike? Get one and learn how to ride it. Just this process can help keep you busy and away from smoking.
If you really want to stop smoking, you can start by doing anything that you can think just to put your mind in another place, away from the destructive thoughts. Thankfully the withdrawal symptoms of nicotine aren’t as violent as a few others that are known. Keep that up long enough and you might not want another cigarette in your life.
Sometimes, chewing on gum can help to occupy your mind and being when you feel like smoking, at least until the urge passes away. After a while of doing that, the urges might not come so frequently anymore, and you would have broken the habit.
Every time the urge comes, wait it out; that is – don’t do or take anything, just do nothing. It might sound silly because you aren’t doing anything active per se, but it works almost better than anything else. You would be strengthening your mind to say no to smoking this way, and I happen to think that is the best way.
How about you take a few lessons on what lung cancer looks like? I’d bet if you could see what the long-term effects of smoking can do to you, you can convince yourself it is not what you want. Give it a shot, will you? When looking at a very sick lung cancer patient, consider that you just might end up like that – sickly and miserable and dying. That should help you stop smoking, if nothing else.

Every time I watch a movie in which I see someone drag on a stick of cigarette, I feel like going out and getting one myself. But since I told myself I was never going back to that habit, I have been changing the channel. I think we all could use a little help like that. Anything to not think about it.
When that monster rears its ugly head again, kick it in with a bout of something else that you love to do; something that will take your mind away to something else. The urge to smoke will surely come back another time, but just go on ahead and do the same thing all over again. That is the best way to deal with the urge.
